HJERTET IN IKAST

FIXNORDIC delivers a console system for the attachment of wooden slats on the roof of the Hjertet centre in Ikast.

FIXNORDIC has provided a unique console system for the attachment of wooden slats to the roof of the new multi-purpose building ‘Hjertet’ in Ikast. FIXNORDIC has supplied 1,600 consoles and 2,000 metres of aluminium profiles for attachment and the frame system. Hjertet is the setting of a large multi-purpose building in Ikast which gives high priority to expressing a functional, versatile concept embodied in and built up around the building.

FIXNORDIC’s console system was originally developed for attaching a wide variety of items to roofs. Today, the consoles are mostly used for attaching solar PV panels, however. In this project, it has been interesting for us to further develop our console system for attachment of specific items. This specifically involves a new ‘fork’ that can retain the wooden slats covering Hjertet’s roof.

One of the challenges was been to attach wooden slats to roofs with an incline of up to 30°. Also, the installation required drilling through 350 mm of insulation and anchoring the consoles in the trapezoidal-panelled roof below. Our console system was selected for the attachment phase because the basic concept of our system was created for this very purpose!
